History

From its very inception, the diocese of Satna has been keen in carrying out the teaching ministry of Jesus through the ministry of education – one of the main apostolates of the diocese. The aim of education ministry is to build up human communities and, particularly, to uplift the underprivileged of society in this northern part of India. The task of witnessing and promoting the great values of Jesus in the life of people of this locality is one of the priorities of education ministry. The prime objectives of the educational institutions of our diocese are not only academic excellence but also value-based character formation and the emotional maturity of each individual child. Some of the main values for which Jesus lived and stood all throughout his life are love, justice, peace, unity, equality, dedication and sincerity. We form students to develop religious tolerance, a moral sensibility to the needs and rights of the poor, and a disposition for national integration and preservation of the environment.

Christ Jyoti School is a private, unaided, minority English Medium School, under the general management of the Satna Diocesan Society, registered under the M.P. Society, Registration, Act. 1964 (Reg.No. 3276 of 28/04/1973). It is locally run by St Jude's Church, Lavkushnagar, in collaboration with Rev. Sisters of the Congregation of the Prabhudasi Sisters of Ajmer (PSA). The management enjoys the minority rights as ensured in the constitution of India (Article No.30). Christ Jyoti School has its simple beginning on 25th July of 2007, at Lavkushnagar, in the Catholic Church campus with its Kindergarten Classes.

Satna Diocesan Society’s Educational goal is to teach students to practice moral values coupled with excellence in education. It aims to achieve the students’ full potential by enriching their spiritual, social and academic development that leads them to become productive members of our global community, in an environment of love, care and discipline. It also envisions to enable the young to develop into a holistic personality and earn a living and contribute to the economic, social, political and cultural progress of the nation.
